Paul Wiley - Monarch Alarms (Eastern)

Paul Wiley

Received his City & Guilds electrical qualification at Norwich City College after a 4 year apprenticeship in 1984.

For the next 9 years Paul worked as an electrician / Foreman & Contracts manager for major bluechip companies.

In 1993 Paul started his own business specialising in Warden Call / Door Entry fire alarm systems. Paul decided to leave the company in 2014 to start under the new guise of Monarch Alarms (Eastern) alongside his son and fellow director Ryan.

Ryan Wiley - Monarch Alarms (Eastern)

Ryan Wiley

Ryan attended the University of Manchester for 4 years from 2008-2012 at which point he graduated with a Geography with Geology BSc with Hons degree. During his time at university Ryan would spend the summers working for his father Paul’s business Monarch Alarms, this would range from helping with installations, maintenance works and general admin.

After leaving university Ryan was offered a job by Paul at Monarch which he accepted, for the next 2 years Ryan would work in all roles of the business allowing for a complete understanding of the business and a transition to a managers role as and when this came up.

In 2014 Ryan & Paul decided to set up Monarch Alarms (Eastern) with both being equal directors, since then Ryan has taken the role of financial director managing all monetary aspects of the business.

Kevin Harris - Monarch Alarms (Eastern)

Kevin Harris

1978-82 – Apprentice.

1982-84 – Subcontractor for various companies. In 1984 Kevin set up his own company working for numerous national companies including many large fire alarm companies carrying out installation works.

2000 – Kevin was offered and excepted a post as a Project Engineer working for BBC Fire Protection Ltd. This involved working all over the UK running fire alarm installation jobs for many National Account customers.

2005 – Kevin left to join a large national fire alarm company in London working as a Senior Project Manager running numerous high profile fire alarm installations including the Morgan Stanley building.

2007 – Kevin moved to SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy) as a Contracting Manager.

2011 – He moved to a national Fire Suppression company as an Operations Manager.

2012 – Kevin then moved to join his childhood friend Paul Wiley and has worked alongside Paul since 2012 lending his vast knowledge to help Paul further the fire alarm / electrical side of the business.

Jon Shaw - Monarch Alarms (Eastern)

Jon Shaw

1991 – Jon started as an Installation & Commissioning Engineer at GPT Telecommunications installing and commissioning telephone exchanges, primarily for BT.

1994 – Eurotel Systems installing and maintaining small business phone systems.

1998 – Jon then joined the market leading warden call specialist company as a service engineer working his way up over the next 15 years to be one of the senior service engineers and a bastion of knowledge for all his colleagues.

2015 – Jon sought new challenges and decided to come on board with Monarch as our warden call service manager providing the company with even more knowledge than before.
